- Awful!I bought these headphones because I wasn't overly thrilled with the sound quality of the ones provided with my iPod and thought these would compliment it well, what with them being white and made by Apple - plus they came in a snazzy case!
I bought mine direct from the Apple store and, like the majority of Apple products, they certainly looked the business. The only question is, how would they perform?
The simple answer to that one is "not well!"
As with most in-ear headphones, these come supplied with three different bud sizes - medium size already fitted and a spare small and large set. With other in-ear headphones my ears are fine with the medium sized bud, but for some reason, this wasn't the case here. So I tested with the small... nope and then the large, erm... nope! No matter what size I tried, they just seem to fall out my ears, or at least feel like they were going to fall out my ears.
Eventually I managed to wedge them in my ears and, providing I didn't move any part of my face, they seemed to stay there. However, no sooner had I figured out a way to keep them in, I wanted to rip them straight out again because the sound quality was just abysmal!
I opted for this in-ear style because I wanted a nice rich bass sound and not the tinny rubbish that other styles (like the ones shipped with the iPod) produce. Unfortunately these sound even worse than the ones shipped with my iPod and I didn't really think that was possible!
Perhaps if you can get them to fit (and stay) in your ears properly then they're okay, but for me it was a complete waste of money and certainly the last pair of Apple headphones I'll ever buy... unless Steve Jobs picks up a few tips from Kaz Hirai!

- Amazing fit, amazing quality, another amazing product from Apple!I'd heard many bad reviews about these earphones, and because of this wasn't willing to dish out the £40 or so that Apple asks for them. However, when recently visiting the USA, I saw them for $40 from Virgin Megastores on Hollywood Boulevard, so I went for it, I sure am glad I did!
They fit amazingly and sound awesome. They are much better than the original iPod earphones, which I find are uncomfortable and very quiet. (unable to hear anything on a plane with the old ones!)
That's my short 'n sweet review guys!

- Waste of money: 2 pairs went faulty within hours of purchaseOK, I would just like to say that so far I have been very impressed with my Ipod Classic 80GB since I purchased it.
So bearing this in mind I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade my earphones to the Apple In-Ear Headphone as I had heard that they improve bass and cut out background noise further enhancing your music experience.
Unfortunately my experience with these headphones has been a nightmare and I must say that I am quite dissapointed with Apple for the quality of product and the less than helpfull attitude when I returned then to my nearest Apple Store.
Initially when I first started to use the earphones, I must admitt that there is an increased quality in the bass levels and the sound does come though much louder and clearer due to background noise being cut out due to the airtight fit the headphones provide. However it is in this area that I feel the headphones let the product down.
Try as hard as I might, like other reviewers I constantly found the earphones popping out no matter which size rubber ring I attached.
Shortly after getting the blighters to fit. The sound beggan to become mutted in one earphone. Innitialy I thought something might have clogged it up, but when I checked all was clear. After fiddling around with the things for hours, I still could not get the units to fix the sound problem and decided to take them back to the nearest Apple Store.
It is at this point that the story became trully amusing. Upon taking my earphones back to the Apple Store, almost the first trick that the smart and trendy Apple employee tried was telling me that the earphones would have to be sent away for repair due to the fact that Apple have some policy regarding periphials which had been used ect. As you can expect this did not favour well with me & I proceeded to tell him that there was absolutelly not a cat in hells chance this was happening as I had only had these units for one week, out of which I had only used them for a couple of hours before going faulty and that having to wait 1-2 weeks for them to repaired was simply not acceptable. I must admitt, I enjoyed watching the quick talking little smart arse sweat as a stumped look came over his face. Ahh, bet you've never had a customer argue the odds before have you! Lol
Eventually the Apple staff gave up trying to fobb me off with their repair programs and talk of policies ect as I contradicted them at every hurdle and they issued me with replacements.
Unfortunately again within less than a week these too have gone faulty. So yet again I will have to trip back to the Apple Store, although this time I think I shall be asking for a refund and getting a higher quality pair of earphones such as Seizner or Griffin EarThumps instead.
This should prove interesting! Lol
